Eat the Word Speak the Word is well written and easy to understand. It gives practical BIBLICAL advice concerning speaking words of prophecy both to individuals and to the church as a whole.

In this book you will find encouragement, instruction, evaluation, and examples of Biblical prophecy in action.

I encourage anyone who is interested in Bible based prophetic ministry to read this book.

Latte Time with Author Karen Kingsbury

I had the pleasure today, of sitting in on "Latte Time" with Christian Author Karen Kingsbury.

Latte Time is what Karen calls the Question and Answer sessions that she holds on her Facebook Fanpage. It is to be noted that Karen maintains her fanpage herself, and interacts with her fans there often.

I have to admit that I've never read one of Karen's books. I joined her fan page because I was curious about these books that my friends sometimes talked about. And, I'm not someone that often ventures outside their favourite genre or away from their favourite Authors. Personally speaking, I'm a fan of Historical and Amish fiction. But, the session that I witnessed today has convinced me that I need to try these books.

Karen displays a genuine love and caring for her fans, and it seems that the love is mutual. The fans reciprocate by showing an interest not only in her books, but also in her family, and Karen is open with them about aspects of her family life. Likewise, the fans tell her and one another about their family lives.

So, next time I visit a bookstore where her books are sold, I intend to purchase a book by Karen Kingsbury. Perhaps it will be the beginning of a wonderful "friendship", because I view all of my books as friends, don't you?

Books - My First Addiction

I love books. The way they look. The way they feel. The ... way they smell. The smell of a new book is simply divine. The smell of the paper. The smell of the ink. I love that smell. I also like the smell of old books. And book dust, the dust that is found on old books. While it makes me sneeze, it lends a sense of history to a book, like its been sitting on the shelf just waiting for someone to come and discover its pages and the story it has to tell. Its delicious! No other dust even comes close to the beautiful smell and texture of the dust that has settled in and on a book that has rested on a shelf for any length of time. Do you like books too?

The sense of discovery in finding a new author, one whose books you have never considered reading before. One whose cover design tempts you to take a peek inside, because, if you're anything like me. You do actually judge a book by its cover. Of course there's that saying 'you can never judge a book by its cover', but I always do, don't you?


A book with a distasteful or boring cover doesn't generally get a lookin from me unless someone has recommended it. Of course, the contents of the book have to be interesting too - its no use getting a book with an interesting cover if the actual book itself isn't interesting ... unfortunately, you can't always tell that by glancing through a book. Some books tantalise you with a fabulous cover, then let you down with the content.

I mean, if a cover is boring and lacks imagination one can only imagine that the book is going to be the same. If the title of the book sparks my interest, I may deem to read the synopsis on the back cover, and perhaps flick through a couple of pages in the centre of the book. But if I'm really honest, I have to say that 3/4 of the books in my bookshelf (if not more) have covers which appealed to me and drew me in. Covers that sparked my booklovers imagination.

I have loved books for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would often curl up with a book and often read two or three Famous Five books or Trixie Belden books at a time! Amazingly enough I never got the stories confused. Now that I'm older, its enough to read one book at a time. I do have to say, that I prefer reading a book to reading something electronically on a computer screen, there's something tactile about a book. And, my computer is a little difficult to juggle in bed (even if it is a laptop!).

On occasion I will be blogging about books - and doing some reviews of books I have read, so do keep an eye out! I hope you will enjoy my blog - my muse - just as much as I do.
